Brightstar Capital Partners Announces Promotions
NEW YORK, NY, December 13th – Brightstar Capital Partners (“Brightstar”), a private investment firm that partners with closely-held, family-owned middle market companies, has announced the promotions of Sam Totusek and Yue Xi to Principal, Jeremy Mallinckrodt and Kyle Urbeck to Vice President and Controller, and Zack Murdoch to Associate.
Sam Totusek has been promoted to Principal from Vice President. Sam consistently displays his talent, strong voice, and determined work ethic. He’s an integral part of the Likewize, QualTek, and Oasis deal teams, and helped all three companies successfully complete complex transactions in 2022. Our interns from this summer also specifically mentioned Sam’s generosity in repeatedly sitting with them during lunch and answering any and all of their questions.
Yue Xi has been promoted to Principal from Vice President. Yue’s calm demeanor, attention to detail, and commitment to his work and the firm are evident day in and day out. He’s done a masterful job as part of the AAA deal team, helping lead many different work streams. One example, Yue led the successful refinancing of AAA’s floorplan debt which will provide the financing division with additional opportunity for organic growth at a significant reduction in cost of debt.
Jeremy Mallinckrodt has been promoted to Vice President and Controller. Jeremy continues to play a critical role in the professionalization of our fund accounting and reporting practice. He’ll be a key participant in the firm’s next phase of growth as we leverage 3rd parties and technology to improve our processes and build a sustainable financial platform.
Kyle Urbeck has been promoted to Vice President and Controller. Kyle plays an essential role in the development and progression of Brightstar’s compliance program and management company operations. He displays great focus and collaboration while improving the repeatability of process and overall accountability of the firm’s operations.
Zack Murdoch has been promoted to Associate from Analyst. Zack’s infectious personality and willingness to learn all aspects of business development have made him an important member of our sourcing team, especially as we’ve deepened relationships and grown new ones across California, Utah, and Nevada. He’ll continue to work closely with Roger and expand his role to collaborate with other members of our sourcing team.
