John Simmons is an advisor to W.W. Williams.
John is an experienced executive with a background leading industrial services, equipment distribution, and heavy-duty repair businesses across a variety of sectors. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of W.W. Williams, a national provider of truck repair, powertrain components, and industrial solutions. John joined the company following a majority investment by One Equity Partners and helped lead the organization through initiatives focused on operations and business development.
Before joining W.W. Williams, John was Chief Executive Officer of Stewart & Stevenson, a Houston-based global manufacturer and distributor serving the energy, marine, construction, and power generation industries. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles in companies operating across the heavy-duty truck, distribution, marine, oil and gas, construction, and industrial power markets. His background includes decades of experience managing complex organizations serving diverse industrial end markets.
John earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lamar University in Texas.
